Update a user's role on an account

This article describes how to update the role of other workspace users on your accounts.

  • WorkspaceOwners , Super Admins , Admins , Users , and Guest Users

  • Only supported using the Cerby web app and the Cerby mobile app

As an account Owner , you can update the role of other workspace users on your accounts.

To update a user’s role on an account, you must complete the following steps:

  1. Log in to your corresponding Cerbyarrow-up-right workspace.

  2. Click the corresponding account card. The account details page is displayed with the General tab activated.

  3. Activate the Users tab. The User Overview section is displayed with a table of users with shared access to the account.

IMPORTANT: Users who have received shared access to the account multiple times appear with the Information () icon next to their Cerby role.

  1. Click the user’s current role under the Cerby role column. A side drawer is displayed with the current role of the user and a list of the different role assignments they have been granted on the account.

  2. Select the user’s new role from the Role drop-down.

    • Owner: Users can share accounts, manage access and account configuration, and view passwords through the user interface (UI) and API responses.

    • Collaborator: Users can only view passwords through API responses for account login with Cerby; viewing passwords through the UI is restricted.

  3. Click the Apply button. A success message box is displayed.
